A Loaded Gun

Inspired by the poems of Emily Dickinson and “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac.

Because I could not stop for Death

Odin took me in his hand – a Loaded Gun –

my call blaring into the night – a Funeral, in my Brain –

an answering host of hounds and fae

taking the sky as Rhiannon, goddess on her horse,

to the wind like a bird in flight – Kept treading – treading –

On the look of Death – until I carried my prey away

– And ate the fellow, raw.
